A greener way

Green funerals are growing in popularity as more and more people choose to farewell their loved ones from this earth in an ecologically minded manner.

Traditional services leave a carbon footprint due to materials used throughout both cremation and burial products.

At Something Beautiful Remains, we know there is a greener way, and we can offer you many environmentally friendly alternatives.

Some eco-friendly options include wicker or woollen coffins, the use of non-carcinogenic embalming products, and bespoke, hand-made biodegradable cremation urns.

If a green burial or cremation is on your list of must-haves, you can trust Something Beautiful Remains to ensure we fulfil this wish.

Water cremation services

The advent of technology has uncovered another environmentally friendly cremation option, known as aquamation.

This alternative is a type of water resolution cremation process where the body is placed in a special chamber and cremated using a combination of water, heat, pressure and potassium hydroxide.

The result of this process reduces the body to a white ‘ash’ material which allows for the retention of up to 30% more ashes than a traditional cremation.

The aquamation process allows you to store or scatter the remains in the same way they would with a traditional cremation product.

If you think aquamation is best suited to your needs, contact Something Beautiful Remains to discuss your eco-friendly cremation options.

Eco-friendly end of life

The team at Something Beautiful Remains has many years of experience in bringing eco-friendly end of life processes and products to our valued customers, including earth-friendly burial options.

If you are hoping to ensure the entire funeral process is as environmentally friendly as possible, there are some things you may wish to consider.

  • Non-chemical embalming to ensure pollutants do not enter the ground during burial
  • Biodegradable coffins and urns made from materials such as cardboard, wood or bamboo.
  • Biodegradable coffins made from materials such as cardboard, wicker or wool.
  • A natural fibre shroud that is biodegradable
  • We source Australian-made products where possible, to reduce the emissions from overseas freight.

Nothing is too much trouble

When we first meet our valued customers, we realise that this may be their first time organising a funeral and our first step is to reassure them that they are not alone, and that despite how lost they feel, we at Something Beautiful Remains know the way through this difficult period.

We then begin to discuss your wishes and concerns with the funeral process and if this includes ensuring you reduce your carbon footprint as much as possible, we discuss our range of biodegradable products and environmentally friendly funeral options.

For the team at Something Beautiful Remains, we care about the environment too.

No questions are silly and we are here to help you to fulfil your wishes and your loved one’s wishes to ensure their farewell from this earth is precisely the way they would have wanted it.
